Aircraft Structures

Proven expertise for your most challenging structural design projects

WAIV Aerospace has structures expertise through all phases of design for both metallic and composite structures, including project management, configuration, layout, detail design, retrofit/modification, and MRB support.

We have design and retrofit experience for fuselage, wing boxes, fixed and movable wing leading and trailing edges, winglets, fuel tanks, engine ducts, passenger doors, cargo doors, door mechanisms, and door support structures.

WAIV’s recent projects include passenger to freighter aircraft conversions, wing structural retrofits, various wingtip devices, fuel inerting system structures, static tests, and reverse engineering of full aircraft surfaces.

WAIV Aerospace offers the expertise and advanced capabilities needed to meet the complex structural design demands of today’s aerospace world.

Tool Design

Leveraging decades of experience to tackle your toughest tool design challenges.

WAIV Aerospace has tooling expertise designing complex assembly fixtures, milling fixtures, and composite tool systems, including layup molds, preform mandrels, and resin transfer molds. We have designed tooling systems for commercial aircraft, military aircraft, as well as various industrial and aerospace applications in support of metallic and composite structures.

WAIV recent projects include entire composite structure tool systems, assembly fixtures for structures subassemblies, laboratory and industrial equipment, and complex tooling for highly contoured composite components.

WAIV Aerospace’s advanced tool design capabilities are ideally suited to meet the complex requirements of today’s aerospace manufacturing industry.

Surfacing

Advanced surfacing capabilities to enable your success on demanding programs.

WAIV Aerospace has surfacing and lofting expertise for the creation of highly complex and highly contoured surfaces for aerodynamics, styling, and tooling.  WAIV surfacing projects include winglet and wing component design as well as full aircraft exterior surface design and reverse engineering from scan data.  Additionally, WAIV has extensive experience creating Master Dimension Surfaces for commercial aircraft interiors. These “MDS” surfaces include sidewalls, ceiling panels, overhead bins, light valences, entryways, door liners and surrounds, and many other high-value architectural features.

WAIV Aerospace possesses the experience and demonstrated proficiency needed to deliver the complex shape definitions essential for today’s aerospace world.
